How to Keep your Skin Hydrated and Glowing in the Colder Months

We'd like to share a few tried and true ways to help care for your skin and overall health in the winter…

We can all agree that last winter was a bit extreme, right? I think most of us would like a little less snow, a little more sun and for the Patriots to win the Super Bowl again. But seriously though, we can hope and wish all we’d like but one thing is for sure…winter in New England is upon us and your skin is going to get wicked dry. Dry skin doesn’t look good, dry skin doesn’t feel good; lines and wrinkles set more easily into dry skin; dry skin prevents your serums, lotions and creams from penetrating below the surface and dry skin doesn’t allow your makeup to go on smoothly. Yuck.

Now for the good news…this is all preventable and avoidable. Don’t just survive this winter, thrive this winter by taking great care of yourself and at Dream Spa Medical we are here to help! First we’d like to share a few tried and true ways to help care for your skin and overall health in the winter…

· Drink lots of water.

· Use warm, not hot, water for bathing and washing your face. Hot water breaks down the lipid barriers of the skin, leading to moisture loss, which causes dry, itchy skin.

· Use a humidifier to combat the dry air from heating systems.

Now even when you do all the right things to fortify yourself for the cold season, Mother Nature can still take her toll on your skin and at Dream Spa Medical we have few solutions…

· HydraFacial. A HydraFacial is the quickest, easiest, most affordable way to keep skin comfortable, healthy and looking beautiful all year-round! Your skin is deep-cleaned without extractions, so there is no irritation; your skin is then showered with luscious hydrating and anti-aging serums that are penetrated deeply using HydraFacial technology.

· O2 Facial. An Intraceuticals Oxygen Facial infuses your skin with the most advanced formulation of hyaluronic acid, a water-loving substance that will elevate hydration and restore a healthy glow, while it creates a protective barrier that shields you from the elements.

And I would be remiss not to mention that these two treatments can be combined and your skin will be so soft, healthy and delicious, your winter worries will be few!
