CANTON, MA — A Boston man was arrested Sunday morning after repeatedly firing his gun while driving on Interstates 95 and 93, state police said.

Jose Puente, 21, of Boston, was charged with discharging a firearm near a highway, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, possession of an unlicensed firearm, possession of a large capacity weapon, carrying a loaded firearm, carrying a firearm while intoxicated, and disturbing the peace.

Just after 3 a.m., state police were called after reports of a man repeatedly firing a gun out out his car window, on I-95 and continuing on to Route 93 in Canton. Police said they found Puente's vehicle on I-93 North in Quincy. A 911 caller helped officers find the 2011 Chevrolet Impala near exit 9, where police said they pulled Puente's over.
