Nomination Papers For Canton Town Election Available On January 4

Town Clerk Tracy Kenney has announced that nomination papers for the April 6th, 2021 Annual Town Election will be available in the Town Clerk’s office beginning on Monday, January 4th, 2021 at 8:00am. The deadline to obtain nomination papers is Friday, February 12th, 2021 at 1:00pm.

Due to the increasing number of positive cases of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth and in the Town of Canton, all municipal offices have moved to “by-appointment only” service. Individuals wishing to obtain nomination papers must schedule an appointment by calling the Town Clerk’s Office at 781-821-5013.

Those seeking office in the election must obtain the signatures of at least fifty registered voters in the Town of Canton. Electronic signatures are not acceptable. The deadline to file completed nomination papers with the Board of Registrars is Tuesday, February 16th, 2021 at 7:00pm.

The offices that will appear on the ballot are as follows:

Board of Selectmen: Two, three year terms

Town Clerk: One, three year term

Board of Assessors: One, three year term

Board of Health: One, three year term

School Committee: One, three year term

Planning Board: One, five year term

Trustees of Public Library: Three, three year terms
