Police Investigating Multiple Purse Robberies at Canton Shaw's

Police are investigating multiple reports of unarmed robberies at the Village Shoppes supermarket.

CANTON, MA — Police are searching for two suspects who they say are responsible for a series of unarmed robberies at the Shaw's near Cobbs Corner.

Over the past two weeks the following robberies took place, according to the Canton Police Department:

  • Jan. 29, 7:15 p.m. A woman was approached by a another woman who demanded her purse. The victim refused to comply and ran back inside Shaw's before calling 911.
  • Feb. 6, 6:30 p.m. -On Monday February 06, at 6:30PM in the evening, a woman was approached and assaulted by a man who then stole the victim’s purse.
  • Feb. 8, 8:30 a.m. - A woman was approached by another woman, who demanded and then forcefully took her purse.

The suspects, believed to be a male and female, may be using multiple vehicles, police said. One of the vehicles is a black pickup truck caught on surveillance video from one of the incidents.
