Project R.I.S.E. Canton Community Problem Solvers Meet With Volunteers at Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Boston
Project R.I.S.E, worked to integrate refugees into society and education in association with Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Boston
BOSTON, Mass. – On Tuesday, November 8, 2016, a Canton, Massachusetts Community Problem Solving team, Project R.I.S.E, worked to integrate refugees into society and education by taking a trip to the Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Boston (CCAB). At this meeting, Grace Gaskill, volunteer coordinator and community resource associate, spoke about how they can help the refugees of Massachusetts by volunteering and lending a hand when in need.
Project RISE members also discussed about demographics of refugees in Massachusetts and how to help integrate them into our society and education system. Gaskill described how the life of a refugee comes about in the process of getting into America, in terms of background checks and the procedure of applying for permanent residency. She also ran through some myths about refugees. Project R.I.S.E. learned a tremendous amount of information about refugees, CCAB, and how they can help refugees get integrated into the society and education.
