South Shore Staffing Announces 1000th Placement Since Opening Doors in 2004

The Canton-based employment agency is celebrating its 1000th placement.

in Canton recently achieved its 1,000 placement since opening its doors eight years ago. The full-service agency offers temporary and permanent job placement for accounting, finance and administrative professionals.

, founder and President of South Shore Staffing, announced today that Scituate resident Lisa Foley will fill the firm’s 1,000th staffing placement with a temporary clerical project at Clean Harbors Environmental Services in Norwell.

Foley, who has accepted 18 assignments from South Shore Staffing over the past five years, majored in Theater at Boston University.  Although an actress, Foley said that “acting jobs can be quite irregular, so I signed up with South Shore Staffing and have been very happy with the administrative assignments they have sent me on over the years; they are professional and friendly, always responsive and on the look-out for the right assignments for me.”

Foley has become a virtual Microsoft Office expert over the years she has been temping, and recalls the early days going out on assignments.

“I’ve temped with other agencies over the years and in the beginning, I would be sent out on jobs whether or not I had knowledge of their clients’ software – it was sink or swim, but I learned to figure things out quickly.”

In addition to her office and theatre work, Foley teaches writing to homeless veterans two nights a week at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Brockton and will soon begin instructing computer skills to veterans as well. 

“The staff at South Shore Staffing recognizes the level of skill and dedication that Lisa brings to each and every assignment,” said McDaid.  “We’re delighted that she holds the distinction of being our 1,000th placement.”

“Reaching a four-digit placement is quite an achievement," McDaid said. "Thanks to our great staff, client companies and candidates like Lisa, we’ve realized 1,000 placements. We look forward to placing the next 1,000.”
