The best beauty and anti-aging advice I can give my clients is this: Stay out of the sun and avoid tanning booths, always wear sunscreen--even if you don’t think you’ll be in the sun, and drink plenty of water. My clients tell me that they can do this but miss having a sun-kissed glow during the summer time. Even if you slather yourself with SPF 50 every 4 hours, your skin’s melanin (the pigment produced when certain skin cells are exposed to the sun) will still darken to your natural tan. Still, many clients want an all over tan and are unsure of how to protect their skin while having that summer glow. When my clients have special events—weddings, bridal showers, graduations, family reunions or just want to look tan, they come to me for an airbrush spray tan.
What makes airbrush spray tanning different from tanning in the sun or using a tanning bed? There is no risk of sun damage from UVA or UVB radiation. Also, unlike most spray tan booths or self-tanners/bronzers, my clients get an even, natural-looking tan because I use an air brush gun with Aviva Sunless Spray Tan Solutions (no Oompa Loompa faces!). The airbrush gun allows me to dry the solution before moving on to another area of the body to avoid splotchy patches in hard to reach areas such as behind the knees, insides of the elbows, and the tops of the legs.
Airbrush spray tanning is only temporary and lasts 5-7 days. It does not provide sun protection—however, neither does tanning in the sun or in tanning booths. Dream Spa Medical offers an excellent solution to keeping your skin safe from sun damage while getting a natural, healthy looking tan.
