Yankee Stadium comes to Boston!

The SLAMDiabetes Boston Classic kicks off on Saturday, July 13 at the Irish Cultural Centre of New England in Canton, MA. Games begin at 8:30 am with Opening Ceremonies at 11:30 am.

Participating teams will compete for bragging rights in Wiffle® ball-sized versions of Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park, while generating support to defeat T1D. In addition to the tournament games, anyone will have a chance to knock one out of the park during our Home Run Derby competition.

Few of us will ever get the chance to face major league pitching at a real ballpark, but at SLAMDiabetes tournaments, participants get the chance to try to hit a home run off of former pros Bill “Spaceman” Lee, or Dennis “Oil Can” Boyd. Colorful uniforms, umpires, bunting, the national anthem – if you didn’t know better, you’d swear you were at Opening Day.
