• Carver Man Admits Guilt in Brutal Multi-Year Dogfighting Conspiracy: Pit Bulls Scarred, Injured, and Killed for Sport and Gambling (hyannisnews.com) — Federal prosecutors say a 49-year-old Carver resident has agreed to plead guilty in connection with a multi-year dogfighting conspiracy, and authorities seized four pit bull-type dogs from his Carver home. Investigators describe extensive evidence of organized fights, brutal training methods, and severe injuries to dogs. The man faces potential prison time, fines, and forfeiture of the animals while sentencing is still to come. 
• ‘HEART-felt Win' Attleborough man wins $1M from gifted lottery ticket (wwlp.com) — A Massachusetts lottery player from Attleborough won $1 million on a scratch ticket that was actually bought at Quickeez Beer, Wine and Convenience Store on North Main Street in Carver. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. The prize came from a ticket tucked into a get-well card after the winner’s heart surgery.
• AG rejects solar moratoriums in Worthington (gazettenet.com) — State officials have rejected Worthington’s temporary bans on large-scale solar projects, and the same attorney general review has already turned down similar voter-approved moratoriums from Carver, Blandford, and Northfield. The AG’s office says these measures are too vague in timing and scope. Carver residents should note that local efforts to pause big solar or battery projects face steep legal hurdles statewide.
