2 Arrested After Crashing Stolen Car, Fleeing to River
Police didn't fish the boys out, but rather convinced them to come back ashore.

BOSTON - Two 17-year-old boys were arrested Friday after they crashed a stolen car into four vehicles on Storrow Drive, then tried to evade authorities by escaping to the Charles River, according to State Police.

Minor damage and one non-life threatening injury was reported by police. Motorists on Storrow Drive westbound were told to expect delays.

The names of the suspects were not released because of their age, but the suspect who allegedly was driving the car, identified as a Hyundai Elantra, faces charges of larceny of a motor vehicle, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, use of motor vehicle without authority and failure to stop for police. The other suspect faces charges of receiving stolen property.
The two were arraigned Friday afternoon in Suffolk County Juvenile Court; each was ordered held on $100,000 bail.
