$6k in Scholarship Money Available to Charlestown Residents
One prize will benefit a Community College student. The other will benefit and undergraduate or graduate at another school.

The following was sent to us by the MGH Institute of Health Professions. It has not been edited.
Two Health Care Merit Scholarships totaling $6,000 are available to Charlestown residents who are enrolled in a program of study leading to a non-MD health career, such as nursing, physical therapy, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, x-ray technician, or other health sciences professions.
Eligible students must have completed at least two semesters at a community college, an undergraduate college or university, or graduate school.

One student attending a community college will receive a $2,500 scholarship, while one student attending undergraduate or graduate school will receive a $3,500 award.
Applications must include an essay that demonstrates the applicant’s leadership qualities through community service work. Proof of Charlestown residency is also required.

The 2011 Charlestown Health Care Merit Scholarship is a joint effort of the MGH Charlestown HealthCare Center, MGH Institute of Health Professions, and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.
