Boston National Historical Park Celebrates Its 40th Anniversary

Have a piece of Birthday Cake to Celebrate!

Forty years ago, on October 1, 1974, President Gerald Ford signed the Boston National Historical Park Act, establishing Boston’s first unit of the National Park System. The park includes eight historic sites of national significance associated with the colonial struggle for independence and the birth and growth of the United States: the Old State House, Old South Meeting House, Faneuil Hall, Paul Revere House, Old North Church, Bunker Hill Monument, Dorchester Heights, and the Charlestown Navy Yard, including USS Constitution, the USS Constitution Museum, and USS Cassin Young.

To celebrate the 40th Anniversary, on October 1, 2014 at 3:00 p.m., the park service will host a celebration outside the Charlestown Navy Yard Visitor Center where, after brief remarks by park partners, the public will be offered good cheer and a slice of a park-themed Montilio’s Bakery cake. Free and open to all. Please come and help us celebrate.
