billboard wisdom

on an especially contemplative drive up 93, i noticed a new leffe beer billboard. the copy read: 

"actually listening, not waiting to talk." 

listening has the spotlight in my life these days, so i especially appreciated this super-sized, succinct encapsulation of my feelings.

as a surprisingly shy person, i approach most conversations from the "interested is interesting" perspective, typically more comfortable asking questions than offering news or stories. not all folks are this way. there are plenty of different conversational styles out there.

but i wonder... wouldn't we all be a little better for applying this sort of leffe wisdom?
