Charlestown High School Graduates the Class of 2013

Charlestown High Graduates the Class of 2013

Matthews Arena on the campus of Northeastern University was the setting for graduation on Tuesday, June 11.  Shortly after 3 p.m. Headmaster Will Thomas and assistant headmaster Chris Teulote-Cote led the academic procession to the stage area.  Then came the class of 2013 with the girls wearing white and the boys, red.  The exercises began with the posting of the colors and the pledge of allegiance.  Mr. Thomas welcomed all and congratulated his first class as headmaster for reaching this milestone in their lives.  Invited speakers on stage included School Committee member Mary Tamer, School Superintendent Carol Johnson, former headmaster Margaret Bledsoe and Jerrill Ugwunze, a member of the CHS class of 2007.  Announcing the many awards and scholarships was Amy Koehler.  Diplomas were presented to 171 graduates who celebrated heartily as the commencement came to a close at 4:30 p.m.
