I've been cooking! I'm not a talented chef and I don't particularly like to cook but I do like healthy, convenient and quick meals. With a schedule that has yet to be figured out and with the need to fuel up quickly, I decided to make my own granola bars. Also, paying $1+ per bar and going through A LOT of them can be frustrating! I tend to just use what I have on hand and I'm not a fan of measuring but I tried my best so I could share!
In the granola mix:
1 cup of regular oats
2 packets of instant oats with flax seeds
1 cup of organic dried cranberries
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
1/2 cup of Agave Necter
splash of vanilla
1 tbsp or so of cinnamon
splash of water
1 egg white
I used a 9 inch by 9 inch sprayed pan and put it in the oven for 20 minutes.
Things I would change:
I'd make them in muffin tins since they were still a bit flaky.
I'd use a little less agave and chocolate and add some nuts or other healthy ingredients.
Have you ever made homemade granola bars? Any tips/tricks?!
