Healthy Lifestyle Jealousy

Healthy Lifestyle Jealousy. Are you jealous of people who make the effort to be healthy? Are they jealous of you?

**This is NOT geared to a person in particular but just my feelings over the past few months**

Have people given you a hard time because you make time to work out?

Are you made fun of because you ask for veggies instead of French fries?

Do people make assumptions about your diet? "You ONLY eat organic weird things"

Do they think you work out for hours on end?

I am a victim of it in the past but I have been experiencing some of it in the past months.

I remember being jealous of people who took care of themselves saying "lighten up have some ice cream" or "do you really need to work out"? But now I have been the recipient of these comments. It has made me think okay I really have to stop judging others on their healthy or lack thereof lifestyle choices because I understand how it feels. It is a difficult task in our society where we are told to have fun by eating but are also told to be skinny. I have been choosing a healthier lifestyle where I feel off if I don't get some sort of excercise at least once a day. Over all, I feel so much better since making healthier eating choices and increasing my activity level.

My advice to the jealous ones: Try it. Don't be jealous of it! Use your healthy friends as a resource and a support system. Anyone can make small daily changes. They add up to big results, mentally and physically. I'm not perfect, I had some amazing (and indulgent) food at the wedding this weekend but I woke up and worked out Saturday and I have workouts planned for the rest of the week.

My advice to the healthy ones: Know you are taking care of yourself which is the most important thing you can do. Remember moderation and give yourself some slack. Have a thick skin with these people and stay true to your body. If it likes these great choices you are making, stick with it!
