Navy Yard Views
Let us know what you think about the development of parcel 39a, your favorite local charity and have a voice please take our survey http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/DZCFLTN

While swimming in the pool at Parris Landing I was thinking about what a fun week it was hearing from you on a broad range of topics including the posting of the Rutherford Landing real estate project, chicken soup and a continuation of the conversation about the pilings under pier 8.
On a personal note we need your help to select a local Charlestown Charity to be the recipient of a portion of the 2013 Alliance Relocation (AR) profits. Bunker Hill Associates (they distribute funds to Charlestown Youth Groups), Chad (Charlestown Against Drugs) and the YMCA. Once we have heard from you and your favorite nonprofit we will research each carefully and ask View readers to help with the final selection.
My vision of the View is that I am the neighborhood scribe and you will have something to say. Those of you who know me would attest that I could go on and on and on but my goal for the view is to share relevant scoop. I ran into Marie Richards last week at Style Cafe and told her about the blog. She said “sure I will contribute how about a recipe”? My husband is the cook in our family so nary do I think about recipes but Marie was a good sport and forwarded what looks like a home run. As Marie said “Wow! It’s getting chilly outside. It’s SOUP time. I borrowed this recipe from the RED LION INN”. (see below)

Navy Yard Real Estate - The conversation continues that parcel #39a currently the parking lot in front of the Y on 1st Avenue will be developed into a 56 residential unit apartment building. I was told there was lively discussion at the
CNC (Charlestown Neighborhood Council) meeting which I missed, however, there was a suggestion to add retail shops to round out the neighborhood. What do you think?
Speaking of real estate is there anyone in Charlestown that is even thinking of selling their single family home???? I am working with an ideal buyer and happy to cooperate with the agent of your choice.

In addition to the Patch our neighbors like to get their local news from The Patriot Bridge, their condo associations, the FCNY www.friendscny.org. and while out walking Fido. Where do you get your neighborhood news?

chicken breasts from the pot and allow to cool slightly. Finely dice the chicken, then
return to the pot. Add the rice, seasonings, and 1/3 cup of sherry. Simmer
gently for 1 hour, or until the rice is tender. - Add the cream and stir until hot, but do not
boil. Stir in the remaining butter and sherry. Adjust the seasonings
and serve.
