New Website to follow Beacon Hill Republicans for final 27 Days of 2012 Campaign

The Massachusetts Democratic Party today launched a new website, www.beaconhillrepublicans.com, to highlight the misdeeds of a group of Republican lawmakers and candidates.

BOSTON โ€“ With just 27 days to go until Election Day, the Massachusetts Democratic Party today launched a new website,ย www.beaconhillrepublicans.com, to highlight the misdeeds of a group of Republican lawmakers and candidates. The new site will be updated frequently to keep Massachusetts voters informed about these candidates and the Massachusetts Republican Party.
ย
โ€œWith the national rise of the Tea Party, the face of the Massachusetts Republican Party is changing,โ€ said Massachusetts Democratic Party Chair John Walsh. โ€œStarting with the election of 15 Tea Party candidates two years ago, a new crop of Massachusetts Republicans has made it clear that they are more interested in grabbing cheap headlines and pushing an ideology than working toward solutions and representing people.โ€
ย
Since 2010, Massachusetts Republicans have made it clear that they donโ€™t think they have to play by the same rules as everyone else:

  • Republican ย Rep. Paul Adams broke the law by illegally funding his 2010 campaign. Even when he was caught, found guilty and ordered to pay a fine, he still claimed he did nothing wrong.
  • Republican candidate James Stanton is currently under investigation for failing to report nearly $300,000 in income on his legally required Statement of Financial Interests.
  • Republican Rep. Dan Webster was forced to drop his reelection bid after being accused of taking money from his law clients.
  • Republican Sheriff Frank Cousins, a former Beacon Hill lawmaker, is currently under investigation by the Attorney Generalโ€™s office after a series of explosive news reports on his habit of forcing public employees to contribute to his campaign.
  • Republican leaders in East Longmeadow are currently under investigation for voter fraud.
  • Republican former city councilor from Marlboro recently plead guilty to a voter fraud scheme involving absentee ballots.

โ€œThey once prided themselves as โ€˜Team Reform,โ€™ but now it seems that Massachusetts Republicans from all over the state have gone to Boston and gotten in trouble,โ€ Walsh added.
