Microchip FAQs:

1) Won't microchipping hurt my pet?

A microchip is inserted with a single, simple injection that does not cause any more discomfort than a routine vaccination.

2) How does a microchip protect my pet?

A microchip provide a permanent, lifetime ID.  If your pet is found and taken into ANY animal shelter or clinic, the staff will immediately scan your pet for a microchip and read the unique ID code.  With this code, you can quickly be notified of your pet's whereabouts.

3) How is my information connected with my pet's microchip?

After a microchip is inserted into your pet, you will register the microchip online to connect your contact information with the microchip ID code.

4) Can the microchip fall out?

Microchips are placed strategically to stay in place in your pet's body.  Unlike a collar, they cannot just fall off.

5)  What do I do if my pet goes missing?

Report your missing pet immediately!  Call the company through which your pet's microchip has been registered so that clinics and shelters can be notified immediately.  Get a list of local shelters, as well, and start searching for your missing pet!
