At the invitation of CHS civics teacher, Henry Mahegan, six retired Red Sox players came to his class on Monday afternoon, September 24 to chat with his students and take questions on their careers and the Red Sox overall. The six included Adam Hyzdo,Keith Foulke, Tim Wakefield, Brad Mills, Pedro Martinez and Jason Varitek. The six brought along with them the 2004 World Series Trophy and all played or participated on the team during the spectacular play-off run that year. The Sox were 0-3 against the Yankees in the second round and then stayed alive with a come back four game sweep. The victory enabled the Sox to advance to the World Series and sweep the St. Louis Cardinals for their first World Series win since 1918.
After taking questions, the six took part in a class photo and signed autographs to the delight of all attending.
