Video: USS Constitution Turnaround in Boston Harbor on July 4, 2011

View the video of the USS Constitution, "Old Ironsides," underway in Boston Harbor on July 4, 2011.

To celebrate the United States' independence from Great Britain, USS Constitution and her crew departed from the Navy Yard in Charlestown on July 4, 2011. The turnaround of "Old Ironsides" is an annual event on the Fourth of July.

In Boston Harbor, the crew performed a 21-gun salute near Fort Independence on Castle Island. Fort Independence is a state park that served as a defense post for Boston Harbor at one time.
 
Constitution is located in the Charlestown Navy Yard in Boston. She is the world’s oldest commissioned warship afloat. For more information on Constitution, visit www.history.navy.mil/ussconstitution.
