btone FITNESS is pleased to announce the official opening of its newest Boston location in Charlestown, Massachusetts. The new 1,500 square-foot studio is the growing brand’s latest franchise to open and joins several other greater Boston locations including those in Back Bay, the North End, South Boston, Dorchester and Somerville. A new Brighton studio is slated to open early this summer.

The Charlestown studio, located on the third floor of 40 Warren Street, is co-owned and operated by North End residents and long-time btone instructors, Kristen Bichler and Kyleigh Williams who share, “btone is an upbeat, 45-minute, full-body workout that’s both highly effective and efficient. It’s a hybrid of Pilates-inspired movements and resistance training that you can customize to meet you wherever you are in your fitness journey, whether you’re just beginning or a btone regular. All levels and ages are welcome!”

The Charlestown, Massachusetts studio joins additional New England btone locations in Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, and Rhode Island, and studios outside of New England including those in Illinois, Utah, and North Carolina.

According to btone FITNESS CEO and Founder Jody Merrill, “btone is committed to accelerating its national growth, breaking into new markets that align with our strategic vision for expansion. Among the next wave of planned openings, btone is working toward expanding our immediate footprint to Orlando, Florida and Charleston, South Carolina, with additional markets also on the horizon. The company is on a fast track to have close to 45 opened studios by the end of 2026.”

Referencing the Charlestown market, Merrill says she’s excited to introduce even more Boston residents to btone FITNESS given the popularity of the brand and workout for more than 15 years. “If you’re new to btone, our equipment and workouts have been inspired by and evolved from traditional pilates. And we combine elements of pilates with strength training and functional movement for maximum efficiency. This is the wildly efficient 45-minute workout that Boston residents have been loving since we first opened our doors in Lexington in December of 2010.”

Merrill adds that “Kristen and Kyleigh are the ideal franchise partners because they have been instructors and ambassadors for the btone brand throughout Boston for many years. This isn’t their first time at the btone rodeo; they’re btone OGs. We know they’ll continue to successfully expand our brand throughout the Boston area, building loyal btone communities along the way.”

The co-owners add, “We’ve had our sights set on Charlestown since the beginning days of taking and teaching btone classes and 40 Warren Street is the perfect spot for a new btone FITNESS studio. The location is well-connected to public transportation and within walking distance to City Square Park, Tatte Bakery & Cafe, and Prima restaurant. 40 Warren Street combines the charm of one of Boston’s most historic communities with the energy of a thriving, emerging business district. We know our clients will also appreciate the studio’s oversized windows and high ceilings that let in lots of natural light. Our new space perfectly complements our btone FITNESS workouts.”

The Charlestown studio offers twelve customized reformers [exclusive to btone FITNESS] to ensure a highly personalized Pilates hybrid workout where clients will feel comfortable regardless of their fitness levels. Unlike other group exercise classes, btone specializes in 45-minute, total-body TONE workouts on these customized machines, allowing clients to tailor each and every move with spring resistance and body placement. Clients can easily and safely modify their workout based on their current fitness level and wellness goals.

Concludes Bichler and Williams, “btone makes it easy to squeeze in a total-body workout during the day, before or after work, or whenever your busy schedule permits given convenient urban location. Our classes strengthen every major muscle group in your body on our state-of-the-art reformers, which we affectionately call TONEy, derived from our signature TONE class. From move to move, you have the ability to tailor and adjust your workout resistance, along with your body positioning, to make each exercise the most comfortable and effective it can be. This is where reformer fitness meets pilates remixed and it definitely packs a punch."
