CHARLESTOWN JEWELER BETSY BAKER TO EXHIBIT AT 3rd AMERICAN FINE CRAFT SHOW BROOKLYN AT BROOKLYN MUSEUM NOVEMBER 21-22, 2015

Betsy Baker, Stonehouse Studio, one of 19 jewelry designers handpicked for this year's craft show at Brooklyn Museum

Betsy Baker, Stonehouse Studio in Charlestown is one of 19 jewelry designers handpicked to exhibit her work at the third American Fine Craft Show Brooklyn at Brooklyn Museum November 21-21, 2015.

Baker, whose studio is in Boston, writes on her website that she “hand fabricates one-of-a-kind limited edition contemporary art jewelry.” She works primarily in polymer, incorporating a variety of mixed media surface techniques “using acrylic paints, silk-screening, image transfers and traditional polymer techniques of mokume gane and mica shift.” To add dimension to her pieces she “complements polymer with hand-fabricated sterling silver, vintage and re-purposed components to add dimension and textural contrast to her pieces.”

Jewelry, along with handmade work of 71 fashion designers and artisans of home accents, will fill the regal Beaux-Arts Court in time for holiday shopping.
