Charlestown Man's Lawyer Speaks on Drunken Boating Incident

Teenager lost arm as result of boating mishap.

Daniel O’Malley, the lawyer for a Charlestown man charged with drunken boating, says his client was not onboard his boat when the engine was turned on and the propeller sliced off a 19-year-old woman’s arm.

O’Malley informed The Boston Globe Thursday that 33-year-old Benjamin Urbelis was swimming in the water nearby his boat when someone suddenly started the engine.

Ironically enough, Urbelis practices law and focuses on drunken driving cases. He’s pleaded not guilty to charges of reckless and drunken boating causing a serious injury.
