Charlestown Residents Running in Annual Falmouth Road Race

The runners are looking to raise more than $3,000 each for cancer care and research.

Three Charlestown residents are set to hit the road this month for the 42nd annual Falmouth Road Race in support of cancer research.

On Sunday, Aug. 17, Kimblerly Cook, Stephen McCaffrey and Rebecca Santos will join more than 225 teammates from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to run the seven-mile course in an effort to raise $700,000 for cancer research, with each runner aiming to generate about $3,100. All funds raised benefit the Jimmy Fund to help support adult and pediatric cancer care and research.

This year marks the Dana-Farber team’s 12th year of running in the race’s “Numbers for Nonprofits” program. For more information, visit rundanafarber.org, facebook.com/thejimmyfund or falmouthroadrace.com.
