Clean out your closet to help Refugees in the Middle East

Fundraiser event to help refugees in the Middle East on June 4th 10am-12pm at St. Johns Church, Charlestown.

The Syrian crisis has seen one of largest population displacements since World War II. Over 11 million Syrians have been displaced outside and within Syria, and almost half the population is in need of aid. The civilian casualties are extremely high and are ever increasing. This is one of the worst humanitarian disasters we have seen. Aid is desperately needed to ensure the people of Syria have a future.

Refugee Protection International (RPI) focuses on refugees in urban settings near conflict zones. Almost 50% of refugees worldwide live in non-camp settings, yet humanitarian aid tends to be focused on camps. RPI is helping refugees within Syria and Turkey by working with local Syrian NGO partners to improve access to adequate urban housing, documentation, and emergency protection assistance.

This event hopes to spread awareness and funds so that RPI can continue its great work and give refugees within the Middle East hope. Please bring along any good quality childrens or adults clothing that will later be consigned to raise funds. Enjoy art/postcard making, facepainting, instant raffle prizes, toy sale and light refreshments. A suggested donation $10 for entrance is appreciated more is always welcome.
