Basic Field Production and Editing

Learn to tell a story using the medium of television in this 12-session workshop that combines field production training and Basic Final Cut Pro editing. Learn the fundamentals of camera operations, shot composition, basic lighting and audio. Explore concepts of editing while developing an understanding of media management. Gain practical experience and work as part of a team to produce short video projects that will be shown on BNN channels and website.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS:
Isabel Garcia is a graduate of the New England Institute of Art with a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Filmmaking and Video Production. She has experience writing, producing, shooting and editing documentaries, working as crew on narrative films as well as freelance video work at Harvard University and the Massachusetts State House.

Monique Douglas is BNN’s Youth Program and Media Lab Coordinator. Douglas came to BNN in 2002 from the Boston independent film community. As one of the youth coordinators, she teaches high school students media production and their work has won the PEG Access “Hometown Video Awards” and an “EMMY” nomination.
