Charlestown Neighborhood Council Street Cleaning Proposed Changes Public Hearing

At 7 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at the Knights of Columbus lower hall 75 West School St., the Basic Services Committee of the Charlestown Neighborhood Council will hold a public hearing on the Boston Public Works Department (PWD) proposal to implement a new schedule of street sweeping days for some portions of Charlestown starting in April 2012.

The goal is to provide street sweeping to closely follow the Wednesday residential trash collection day. Currently, approximately 40 percent of Charlestown has posted street sweeping on Tuesday and PWD will change that sweeping day to Thursday on those streets. All interested residents are encouraged to attend. If you have any questions, please call committee chair Bill Galvin at 617-242-3862.
