The Charlestown Mothers Association (CMA) is hosting its third Meet-the-Schools event on Monday, September 26th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Charlestown Community Center (255 Medford Street).
This event will feature representatives from over 50 public, independent, parochial and charter schools from preschool through 8th grade. It is never too early (or late!) to learn about the schools in your community! This is your opportunity to learn about the timing and details on the admission process, the school culture and anything else you wish to know about a prospective school.
In addition to an opportunity to talk to school and parent representatives we will also host two information sessions on “How to Navigate the Boston Public School System” and “How to Navigate Private/Independent Schools” to be held at 6:30 and 7:15. A representative from Boston Public Schools Enrollment and Welcome Services will also attend. According to CMA member and event coordinator, Sue Lacey, “This is one of the most important decisions parents make for their children and we are fortunate to have so many great options within Charlestown and our neighboring communities. Our goal with this event is to give parents as many tools as possible to assist in your decision making process.” This event is free and open to the entire community. Dads and caregivers are welcome! A list of the schools that will be available on site the evening of the event or can be found in advance on the CMA Website at www.charlestownmothersassociation.org.
