Five Things: A Note on Skunks

And its Office Hours Friday.

Today is Friday, Feb. 24. Here are five things you need to know.

1. Worth another look. We published an article yesterday about about growing up here in the 1950s and 60s. The author is an interesting character unto himself, but we’re curious if anyone has read the book. Does it reflect what you remember of the time?

2. Skunks in the town.  We got this message from Mayor’s Liaison Daniele Fitzgerald and thought we should pass it along: “I have recently received a few complaints about skunks in Charlestown, and wanted to reach out to you. The sightings have mostly been on Bunker Hill Street, specifically between Pearl and Polk Street. The increase is likely due to the mild winter that we have been having. If residents would like to learn more, they can refer to the state website:WWW.MASS.GOV/WILDLIFE.”

3. Speaking of Danielle Fitzgerald, it’s office hours day. will be at the library at 9 a.m., and will be at Zume’s at 11 a.m.

4. Claim your listings! If you own a business in Charlestown, take a look at the video above. If you know someone who owns a business in town, send this to him or her.

5. I suppose that’s winter-like. The forecast from Weather.com says that we could see up to an inch of snow this morning, but it’s not likely to stay long; the snow should turn to rain and temperatures climb into the mid 40s.
