Five Things: Local on Stage and Work at Training Field
And Super Bowl safety tips.

Today is Friday, Feb. 3. Here are five things you need to know.
1. That resembles winter. Highs in the low 40s today. Lows below freezing. Mostly clear skies and a bit of wind.
2. Local on stage. Georgia Branger-Klein is a third grader at the Advent School in Charlestown and is presently performing in her third Wheelock Family Theater show. Georgia has also done a commercial for Boston Medical Center as well as several shows at the Charlestown Working Theater, most recently The Twelfth Night. She will be playing a munchkin in Wheelock’s production of The Wizard of Oz.

3. Training Field to get work done. The Friends of The Training Field announced they have raised the funds to prune and fertilize the trees in The Training Field. Bartlett Trees has been engaged and work will commence in the next few weeks, weather permitting. The City of Boston Parks and Recreation Department is looking forward to this private/public collaboration to improve this important park. Park Commissioner Toni Pollak said "We commend The Friends of The Training Field for their efforts and look forward to working together."
"Working with the City and residents, The Friends of The Training Field will address the severe erosion problem in the Spring, and will seek contributions. We hope all Charlestown residents will participate in enhancing this vital green space," said President Diane Valle.

4. Play it safe. The Boston Police Department released a series of tips on how to celebrate the Patriots’ Super Bowl game (and victory?).
5. Not sure what kind of threat this is. Punxsutawney Phil reportedly saw his shadow yesterday, dooming us to another six weeks of winter. But, if the next six weeks are like the last week, would anyone notice?
