Five Things: More About The MBTA Cuts

And another found dog.

Today is Monday, Jan. 23. Here are five things you need to know:

1. Warming and wet. The day will start off cold, but warm to the low to mid 40s as the clock ticks away. Rain is possible in the morning and likely in the afternoon, evening and night.

2. MBTA meeting tonight. The MBTA will hold two today at the Transportation Building at 10 Park Plaza to discuss its planned fare hikes and service cuts. The first will be from 1 pm. to 3 p.m. The second will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. A group of Charlestown residents let us know that they plan to attend the 4:30 meeting if you’re interested in joining them.

3. On the subject of MBTA service, Garry Waldeck tweeted us a photo on Friday of the “parade of 93 busses” that has come up a number of times in of the proposed MBTA cuts on this site.

4. Dog found. A reader named Devin Sylvester sent us an email yesterday letting us know that. If you’re missing an animal, take a look at the photo above. Mr. Sylvester may have it.

5. A rejuvenated conversation. We’re not sure why, but chatter on an we published in October suddenly came back to life this weekend. A number of readers chimed in on the question of “does it bother you when strangers go through your trash?” Does anyone care to explain what triggered that?
