Five Things: Town Extended Cut Screens Tonight

And something about a football game we all want to forget.

Today is Monday, Feb. 6. Here are five things you need to know.

1. Still doesn’t seem like winter. High temperatures today are expected to hit 50 degrees under clear skies. Watch the wind, though. Air speeds could hit 18 miles per hour.

2. Thank you for the calm night. We were ready to sprint into action if anything went crazy in Charlestown after the game last night. Given the mood of the room we were in, we’re not surprised that no one went crazy, but it’s worth acknowledging that Boston fans didn’t riot despite police preparation.

3. The part of the game worth remembering. Let’s forget the actual game and remember the commercials. Hulu has most of the game’s commercials—and extended even extended versions of some of them—for on-demand viewing.

4. Townies trounce Cathedral. The Charlestown High School basketball team laid a beating on their latest opponent this weekend, winning 76-48 over Boston Cathedral. However, despite the score, ESPN Boston said that the game “was not handed to the Townies.”

5. More of “The Town.” The AMC Theater on Boston Common will screen an extended cut of “The Town” tonight. The new version will feature more Boston locations and be released later this year on a DVD version called “The Town: Ultimate Collectors Edition.”
