Heart Attack Victim Saved by Fast-Acting Officers

Boston Police officers were called to Spectacle Island where they found a man in distress.

Swift response allowed members of the Boston Harbor Police Unit to save the life of man suffering from a heart attack on Spectacle Island Monday evening, the department says.

Officers patrolling Boston Harbor learned of a man who was in need of help around 5:15 p.m. They immediately responded to Spectacle Island, finding a 54-year-old who was complaining of heart pain.

The officers loaded the man onto their police boat and transported him to shore. The boat was met by Boston EMS for transport.

The man was quickly taken to Tufts Medical Center for treatment. The victim was successfully treated.

“Thanks to the BPD, that guy’s lucky to be alive. No doubt about it, their quick response saved his life,” one EMS official said.
