A Hero Square was dedicated June 1

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day and dedicated to PFC John J Noonan who was killed on D-Day during the invasion of Normandy

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day. A Hero Square was dedicated to PFC John J Noonan who was killed on D-Day during the invasion of Normandy.The location of the Hero Square is at the corner of Constitution Road and Chelsea Street. The dedication took place on Saturday June 1st at 11:00am. Local veterans, neighbors and family members were joined by civic and government representatives. Among those honoring PFC Noonan were Amandine LebasVice Consul Of France, Representative Dan Ryan, Boston Veterans Service Commissioner Robert Santiago, Erik Maloy, Pastor First Church in Charlestown, Milton Lashus Department Adjutant of the American Legion and Post 26 Commander and the Mass Army National Guard Honor Guard. Arthur Hurley was the MC. Bill Durette of the Charlestown Veterans History Project was the driving force that pulled the information together to make this event possible.
