It’s not too late to help families in need

With Thanksgiving fast approaching, we are gearing up for the Annual Thanksgiving Dinner Drive for Charlestown’s emergency food pantry, Harvest on Vine.  Last year, with the generous support of parishioners, Charlestown residents and Whole Foods, Harvest on Vine was able to feed over 600 needy families. This year, Harvest on Vine director Tom MacDonald expects to feed almost 650 families. We really need your help!

For a donation of just $35, you can provide a complete Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings for a family in need. The dinner includes a turkey, rolls, green beans, carrots, cider, stuffing, cranberry sauce, five pounds of potatoes, and a pie. Not only does it provide a great meal, but also a holiday free from worry about not having enough to eat. Last year everyone was so generous. Some people paid for one family, while others were able to pay for two or more. Anything you can do is appreciated. Please remember that these are families that would not have a Thanksgiving meal if it wasn't for the generosity of our community and good work of Harvest on Vine. Tom MacDonald and Harvest on Vine are extremely thankful for your support. Let's make it a great holiday for all!

You can drop off or mail checks made payable to “Harvest on Vine” to St. Mary-St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 46 Winthrop Street, Charlestown, MA 02129.  You can also drop off checks at Olivia Browning in City Square or Zume's on Main Street.
