MBTA: 'All Clear' on Orange Line Delays
UPDATED: Massive power outage in Everett, Malden, and Medford caused the problem, according to officials.

Update, 8:34 a.m. The MBTA has issued an “all clear” alert for the Orange line delay notice. Power is being restored in most of the communities that were hit after a substation problem in Everett, according to reports.

The MBTA Orange is experiencing what officials are calling “severe” delays this morning due to a power outage that has knocked out power to nearly 45,000 National Grid customers in Everett, Malden, and Medford.

The problem “is near the Wellington Station,” according to the MBTA alert system.
The National Grid outage map is estimating that the restoration time for those communities is between 9:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. on May 29, 2015.

At 7:40 a.m., National Grid was reporting to media outlets that the outage is due to problems at the Everett substation.
