Northern Bank Surprises Local Homeless Family with First Home
Northern Bank Teams with Football Star Sony Michel to Surprise Local Homeless Family

CHARLESTOWN - (December 12, 2018) – Yesterday in Charlestown, Northern Bank, a Massachusetts-based community and business bank, surprised a family currently living in a shelter by furnishing their first home with Heading Home Inc. as part of the “Taking it to the House” campaign with 98.5 the Sports Hub and New England Running Back Sony Michel. Volunteers from Northern Bank furnished the home, making it move in-ready and decorated for the holidays. To top off the surprise, Michel made a special appearance to present the family their keys to their new home.
During the 2018-2019 season, Northern Bank has donated $1,000 to Heading Home Inc. for every New England touchdown in support of their mission to end homelessness So far Northern Bank has donated $42,000 for the 42 touchdowns New England has scored. They will also continue their partnership with Heading Home by donating $10 for every new personal checking account and $50 for every new business checking account opened through the end of the year.*
Homelessness continues to be a growing problem in the Greater Boston area. In Massachusetts alone, there are an estimated 4,100 homeless families. Northern Bank hopes that through their continued efforts with Heading Home Inc. will help end homelessness in Boston.
