Plan Aims to Replace Bridge for Charlestown, North End
Plans look to replace the North Washington Street bridge with one more accommodating to commuters.

A new plan proposes replacing the North Washington Street bridge that connects Charlestown to Boston’s North End, according to the Boston Globe.
The proposed project, which has a reported price tag of $90 million, aims to provide an updated bridge that would accommodate drivers and pedestrians alike, according to the report.
The new bridge would also be one that “incorporates many of the visual aspects of this iconic Boston bridge,” according to Boston Complete Streets, an initiative that “puts pedestrians, bicyclists and transit users on equal footing with motor-vehicle drivers.”
