Uber Launches Trial Ferry Service in Charlestown
UberBOAT is available in the area through June 15.
Through this Sunday, commuters in Boston can use a new water taxi option from the mobile app taxi service Uber in Charlestown and other locations.
Boston City Councilor Sal LaMattina welcomed representatives from Uber on June 4 for a soft launch of what is being called UberBOAT, with stops planned for the Navy Yard in Charlestown, the Charlestown Patriot-Bridge reported.
Boston Harbor Cruises, which recently added eight water taxes, has partnered with Uber to add water taxis as an option for commuters, according to NECN.

A soft launch of UberBOAT was held on June 4 and though June 15, commuters can use the Uber app to request a water taxi, according to Uber.
