USS Constitution Sets Sail Friday from Charlestown
The warship sailed to Castle Island in honor of D-Day.
The USS Constitution set sail in Boston Friday in commemoration of D-Day.
The vessel set sail from Charlestown to Castle Island, where it fired a cannon salute, in honor of when troops landed on the Normandy coast on this day in 1994, according to NECN.
The warship is based at the Charlestown Navy Yard in Charlestown.
