Video of Wynn Casino Proposal Public Hearing Now Available
The meeting was held at Charlestown High School on Tuesday, Feb. 4.
Residents in Charlestown who were not able to attend last week's public meeting the proposed casino in Everett can now view the meeting in full online.
The meeting was focused on the proposed construction of a large casino resort in Everett across the bridge from Charlestown's Sullivan Square, by which about 60 percent of the casino’s estimated traffic travel.
One issue of debate that arose during the meeting involved the potential for pollution. Jane Wheeler, an environmental consultant with CDM Smith explained during the meeting that dust leftover from tucks carrying dirt laced with arsenic, lead and petroleum hydrocarbons from years of sulfur manufacturing on what was once a Monsanto chemical site would likely blow from west to east toward Boston.

Mayor Marty Walsh was present at the hearing to discuss transportation and environmental concerns that the project presents to the residents of Charlestown, according to the City of Boston website.
