Each year, St. Mary-St. Catherine of Siena Parish offers Christmas assistance to some of the largest shelters and community programs in Boston. The gifts placed under the Giving Trees in St. Mary's Church by parishioners are items that can help hundreds of men, women and children: warm winter hats and gloves, bathrobes, socks, Charlie Cards, gift cards, toiletry kits, and more. Each gift tag is marked with an item for one of these facilities. Recipients of the Giving Tree program include the New England Homeless Shelter for Veterans, St. Mary Center for Women and Children in Dorchester, and Charlestown Recovery House.
