Wind, Turbine, Take a Break Tuesday
MWRA reports Tuesday's pause in service due to still winds.

After a period in which Charlestown Patch has seen a about the functionality of the wind turbine immediately off the town’s shores, we found yesterday that it had again ceased to turn.
But, Ria Convery, a spokeswoman for the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority had a simple answer as to why.
“There was no wind yesterday,” she said. “It’s spinning right now.”

In the future, she said, if Charlestown residents are curious about why the turbine has stopped, Convery suggested they look at the top of the Scrafft’s building. If the flags are hanging from their poles and not flapping in the breeze, then the turbine has likely stopped due to still air.
