• Charlton woman pleads guilty in bilking Social Security over $110K (telegram.com) — A Charlton resident has admitted in federal court to a years-long scheme involving more than $110,000 in improperly collected Social Security, pension, and COVID relief payments. Prosecutors say she used checks from a deceased beneficiary and forged signatures to drain the account. She now faces sentencing in August following her guilty plea to bank fraud.
