5 Things That Defined Yesterday's Election

What do you think the deciding factors were?

Today is Wednesday, April 4 and election season has officially ended. Now that we've had some time to process to results, here's a look back at what defined this election for Chelmsford.

1. Turnout. Turnout for this election was 25 percent, which is a little more than the average voter turnout for a town election. Typical turnout is about 20 percent for a town election.

2. Weather. The sun was out but it certainly was windy and chilly for all those sign-holders. We hope you didn't get hypothermia out there.

3. Unstable political climate. Whether you're angry, bitter, tired of dealing with it or just tired of reading about it, all the banter from the last few weeks has made for an unstable political climate in Chelmsford.

4. Fire Station. The issue passed at the polls and now goes to Town Meeting...and maybe a new one will be built, after years of trying to find the right proposal.
