All 3rd Middlesex Senate Candidates to Attend LWV Forum

The Forum is Aug. 15 at 7:30 p.m. at 1276 Main St, Concord.

The two Republican and five Democratic primary candidates for the 3rd Middlesex District State Senate seat have accepted an invitation to the League of Women of Voters Candidates’ Night on Wednesday, Aug. 15, at 7:30 p.m., at the Harvey Wheeler Community Center, 1276 Main Street, West Concord.

Republican candidates Gregory P. Howes and Sandi Martinez will sit on the first panel of the evening. Democrats Michael J. Barrett, Alexander E. Buck, Mara Marie Dolan, Joe Kearns Goodwin and Joseph W. Mullin will make up the second panel. The candidates are vying for the office currently held by Sen. Susan Fargo, who is retiring from the 3rd Middlesex District seat.

Following opening statements, the candidates will answer questions from the LWV and from audience members. Former LWV of Massachusetts President Nancy Carapezza of Wayland will moderate. After the forum, audience members may talk with the candidates informally.

Voters may propose questions before Aug. 15 by emailing VoterService@lwvcc.org. Please include your street address and city or town. The district is comprised of Bedford, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Concord, Lexington (precincts 3, 8, 9), Lincoln, Sudbury (precincts 1, 4), Waltham and Weston.

Candidates’ Night is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Parking behind the Center may be accessed from Church Street.

The State Primary Election will be held on Thursday, Sept. 6. The last day to register to vote in the primary or change party enrollment is Friday, Aug. 17.
