Bank Robbery Suspect Caught After Police Chase, Car Crash
Suspect led police on a pursuit through three towns Thursday morning.

The suspect in a bank robbery Wednesday night in Chelmsford has been caught after crashing his vehicle following a police pursuit Thursday morning in Billerica at the Bedford line.
Just before 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning, the suspect was caught after a pursuit with Billerica and Bedford Police led to a motor vehicle crash with entrapment on the Middlesex Turnpike at Lexington Road on the Bedford/Billerica line. The jaws of life were needed to get the suspect out of the car following the crash.

Billerica Police told the Lowell Sun the chase started in Chelmsford Thursday morning and ended when the suspect’s car hit a telephone pole. The suspect was the only one who sustained injuries police told the Sun.
The suspect allegedly robbed the Citizens Bank branch inside the Stop & Shop at 299 Chelmsford Street just before 7 p.m. Wednesday night. Chelmsford Police say no weapon was shown, but the suspect passed a note to the teller.

At 11 a.m. Billerica Police posted on Twitter the road would be closed for accident reconstruction on Middlesex Turnpike at the Bedford Line. The road reopened just before 1 p.m.
