Lynnway Auto Auction Crash: Driver Had Suspended License

The president of Lynnway Auto Auction said the company was unaware of the man's license being suspended.

BILLERICA, MA — The driver of the Jeep that killed three and injured more when he crashed into a crowd at a Billerica auto auction Tuesday had a suspended license, according to a statement from Lynnway Auto Auction President Jim Lamb.

Lamb said the driver, who officials said was in his 70s, had a valid license when he was hired in 2010. Police told Lynnway Auto Auction his license was suspended after investigating the tragic crash.

Lamb also said the driver never had an issue in his seven years driving for the company.
