Becker: For 28 years I had worked in the restaurant business doing every job from dishwasher to line cook to chef to waiter and bartender to general manager. A dream was always to open up my own restaurant. So when the circumstances changed at the restaurant that I had been with for the last 11 years, I decided it was time to realize that dream.

Q: How long have you been in business?

Find out what's happening in Chelmsfordfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

Becker: The Tango Grill was already an operating restaurant when I bought it, but I have owned it for just over a year. I bought it on Dec. 4, 2010.

Q: How would you descibe the atmosphere?

Becker: We are really two restaurants in one. During the day I would best descibe us a neighborhood breakfast and lunch place. When you walk in you would probably find locals who live or work in the area talking sports or politics (local and national) or business people entertaining clients or families bringing their kids for our famous Mickey Mouse pancake. We serve the breakfast until 3 p.m., so on weekends we get alot of those of you who like to sleep late.

At night time, we are a casual fine dining. The atmosphere is dimmed lights, latin music and couples having a romantic meal or foodies who are interested intrying our own style of "latin fusion" food and selection of international and California Wines or homemade Sangria.

Q: What positive experiences have you had as a business owner in Chelmsford?

Becker: I think the most positive experiences have to do with being part of the Chelmsford community. The great people I've met, participation in events such as the , the tasting, . The many charitable events I don't think you get this sense of community if you have a restaurant in a city.

Q: What is your favorite dish on the menu?

Becker: During the day I like the chacarero sandwich. It's a traditional Chilian sandwich. Served on ciabatta bread, it has avacado, chimichirri sauce, green beans, muenster cheese, tomatoes, and a choice of chicken, beef or grilled eggplant. At night, tough choice, but I think my favorite is the Moqueca. It is a traditional Brazilian fish stew, with scallops, shrimp, fish and vegetables in an amazing creamy broth.
